White Rock Marathon Information
Race-Day Directions to American Airlines Center There are several ways to get to the American Airlines Center on race day: drive and park, ride DART or shuttle bus. For those of you who live in town, we strongly recommend riding DART rail. For travelers, there are shuttle buses that will pick you up from downtown hotels. More information on all of these options follows...
Parking at the Start/Finish Line There are more than 8,400 parking spaces either adjacent to or within a very short walking distance of the American Airlines Center, but please to arrive early so that you have time to navigate around streets that are closed at the start/finish line. Parking lots open 3 hours prior to the start and remain open until 2 hours after the end of the event. The price for parking is $5 for all lots, including the parking garage. Overnight parking and "in and out" privileges are not permitted. You will be charged again if you leave the parking lot and return later. Click here for directions to the American Airlines Center. Map includes parking lot options.
Shuttle Bus from Hotels Bus shuttle service from the Hyatt Regency Dallas to the start line area will begin at 6:30 a.m. The service will run about every 15 minutes, with the final run being at 7:30 a.m. The shuttle will return runners from the finish line area back to the hotels beginning at 12:00 p.m. and run until 2:30 p.m.
Riding DART Rail For persons living in Dallas, riding DART Rail to the marathon may prove to be the most convenient method of transportation. There is a DART station immediately adjacent to the American Airlines Center on the west side (Victory Station). It is open for special events, and on race day, it will operate from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. .
To reach Victory Station, you will need to ride DART rail to the West End Station and change trains to get on the train going to Victory Staton. Trains will run between Victory Station and the West End Station every 10 minutes from 6 a.m to 8 a.m. and every 20 minutes from 8 a.m to 3 p.m.
Here's what you need to know to use DART to get to the West End Station where you can catch the train to Victory Station. Note: you may want to print these instructions as well as the maps/links and take them with you to help you remember answers to questions such as what type of rail pass to purchase or what station to exit.
Course Overview All three race events (marathon, half marathon and 5-person relay) begin and end at the American Airlines Center near downtown Dallas. Half-marathoners will follow the marathon course race except for the necessary 2.5 mile detour which trims 13.1 miles off the marathon total. The five-person relay follows the same 26.2-mile course as the full marathon.
Race time will be called out or a clock will be located at each mile marker. There will be more than 20 aid stations along the course.
